Our February 2026 AWMA lunchtime educational meeting will be a field trip to Schenectady County to attend the Schenectady County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting. LEPCs incorporate information provided by facilities on their chemical storage and use into emergency response plans that need to be implemented locally. This will be a great opportunity to see how the LEPC committees actually do that.
Many of our members are required to prepare and submit SARA Title II and Title III reports every Spring. Some of our members are consultants who prepare those reports for client facilities. We thought you would find it educational to see and hear how that information is turned into actionable emergency response plans.
The February 19th 12:15 PM meeting of the Schenectady County LEPC is scheduled to be held at the Union College College Park Hall building at the corner of Nott Street and Maxon Road. Directly across from the Golub/Price Chopper HQ.The entrance driveway is shared with the Colonial Car Wash. This is the old Ramada Inn from years ago.
