Abstract: This talk summarizes the scientific basis of climate change science, and highlights the often overlooked areas of uncertainty in this highly politicized discipline. Local meteorology and paleo-climate records will be presented, and put into the context of the changing global climate. Physics-based perspectives of climate scientists on either side of the “consensus” view will be summarized critically.
